100% steel fermented and matured, this is fruit-driven, rich and dark with savoury elements. Ruby red with garnet reflections, the nose is vibrantly fruity, blackcurrant and plum jam to the fore with hints of violet and light spicy notes. Sweet tannins soften out an already smooth palate, full and round with lashings of blackcurrant and hints of fruit compote.
Primitivo (a.k.a. California’s Zinfandel) thrives in Puglia, the mild and slightly rainy winters contrasted by the hot and dry summers with cooling Mediterranean sea breezes. This would pair well with tomato-based pasta dishes, grilled meats and mature cheeses.
